Federal government studies in Australia, Britain, New Zealand, & Sweden, and provincial & private studies in Ontario have found Chiropractic care to be safe, effective, and cost-effective.
Recent studies have shown that even the majority of family physicians in Ontario now refer patients to Chiropractors -- and in fact, many MDs themselves are Chiropractic patients.
Chiropractors are the musculoskeletal specialists, with the greatest degree of education and experience in this field. By comparison, in an evaluation of musculoskeletal competency, 82% of Medical Graduates fail to demonstrate basic competency. In fact, of the 85 Residents graduating from 37 Medical Schools that were tested, 43% of Orthopaedic Residents failed, 87% of Medical Residents Failed, and 82% of Surgical Residents Failed*.
In addition to knowledge and experience, patient safety is increased because each Chiropractic patient has a treatment programme personalized to their specific needs. A thorough case history and examination helps reveal what areas of the spine may be causing nervous system malfunction, and what treatment course will be best suited for that patient.
Chiropractic care focuses on being non-invasive and non-addictive. It does not try to counteract your body's systems, but is designed to work with it, returning systems to a state where your body can begin to repair itself.
