There is no bone out of place in your spine.

As Chiropractic treatment has become more widely known to the general population, it to has become prone to the same pitfall as everything else. There is a popular notion that Chiropractic is able to put your bones back into place. This is not only wrong, it dangerously fosters an "immediate relief" concept in a profession that is completely opposite to this trend.
Your spine is not constructed as a "ball & socket" type joint, they are basically flat surfaces which glide. It is why we can move in the many directions we do, and it is why there is no such thing as a "bone
being out of place in your spine". Problems actually occur when the normal and full range of motion becomes limited.
Chiropractic adjustments seek to return motion to those areas that have lost mobility. But, because adjustments often give quick relief to areas that are "Locked up", Chiropractic treatments can fall into the trap of becoming "quick relief".
Because we equate pain or symptoms with a health problem, when something relieves the pain or symptoms, we are falsely lulled into thinking we are cured and that the health problem no longer exists. We need to remember one fundamental thing, symptoms or pain do not occur until our bodies can no longer cope with the underlying disease or damage -- just getting rid of the symptoms does nothing to cure the problem which caused the pain in the first place.
