With normal healthy motion of your spine, a series of events take place. Movement allows your body to regularly monitor & maintain the tissues & cells surrounding the spine and the spine itself via the nervous system. Activity maintains the integrity of the area and promotes good circulation through the action of the muscles, and by stimulating the nerves in the area.
When the muscles, circulation, and nervous system are all working together as they should, there will be a smaller chance of problems developing with the mechanics of the joints, the integrity of the discs between the vertebra, or the tissues surrounding the spine. Motion is very important for maintaining healthy discs, and stimulating circulation.
