When the damage builds.

As mentioned, accidents and injuries are another source of problems. As far back as childhood, falls and other trauma do affect the proper mechanics of the spine. While your body may heal itself, chances are, scar tissue has developed.
When you cut yourself, you know that you will get a scar when the cut heals. Even with proper treatment, some form of scarring is produced. Scar tissue is not a very desirable form of healing when compared to the original tissue, because it is not as elastic as normal tissue.
When there is no proper treatment of spinal or muscle injuries, scar tissue can build up a mass and this can, in time, interfere with the proper movement of the joints. It can also cause compression of the adjacent nerve tissue. That is why there is a relationship between spinal problems and other organs & tissues of the body.
