Your spine houses your nervous system, with the nerves exiting through openings made by two vertebra coming together. Your brain communicates will ALL aspects of your body through these vital nerves. If there is any degree of distortion involving the nerve, there will be some degree of improper communication through that compressed or irritated area. This leaves the corresponding organ or tissue with an incorrect or incomplete message, limiting its ability to properly carry on its duties.
Consider an analogy, if your telephone at work only lets you hear every second word, you will probably have very little chance to do your work properly -- even if the phone only drops one in every ten words, you still are liable to miss vital information or have distorted meanings to certain messages.
